Priya has been teaching dance for over 20 years from Canada to India to Fiji and now the United States. She is on her own health journey after marriage and 3 children, and is reenergized to bring her Indo-Fijian-Canadian cultural mix to the community.
Priya is a graduate in Indian Classical Dance and holds an associates degree in Marketing and Media. She is also the founder of HipHop-Natyam Dance Academy, the first established professional South Asian performing arts school in Contra Costa County. She has lead up to fifty students and is still passionate about cultural arts, traditions and fusion.
Some of her highlights include: completing a workshop with Ashley Everette (Beyoncé’s Dance captain) in San Francisco, invited as a guest artist for Vancouver 2010 Olympics creative symposium in Vancouver, Canada, praised by legendary Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan in New Jersey, recognized by Wyclef Jean via Instagram from Los Angeles, California and appreciated by the Prime Minister and First Lady Of Fiji for one of her choreographies in Hayward, California.
